Is it true that a door will open at the closing of another?
Is our wondrous world really full of endless possibilities,
of things to do, places to be and sights to see?
Or does our imagination distort what could be?
Is there a destiny beheld to us all?
Or does man erect his own plan?
Can we create for ourselves a beacon of light through a sea of darkness?
Can a single trees experience, see, feel more though its scenery never changes?
Is it wise to worry about the future like a farmer waiting for rain?
Do our words mean more when they are painted with emotion?
Is trepidation like a road block for life?
Is it ignorant to ignore the itch; murmuring to let go and leap?
Should we listen to our hearts yearning for contentment,
or the doubt in our minds created by fear?
Will our dream always be dreams?
And when all your choices are spent; your life is laid out like a road behind you,
what will you feel?
Satisfaction or regret?

I like how the poem is constantly asking questions. It makes you think about what the poem is asking. I also like the poem because it makes you come off as wise.
ReplyDeleteI think you should have one more question in line 10.
1) a, b, c, b
2) Her tone is inquisative.
3) I like the use of the word erect in the line "Or does man erect his own plan?"
The use of the words beacon of light was intersting in the line "Can we create for ourselves a beacon of light through a sea of darkness?"
I also liked the use of the words in the line "Is it ignorant to ignore the itch".
4) One example of imagery in the poem is "Can we create for ourselves a beacon of light through a sea of darkness?"
5)Alliteration was used in the line "Is it ignorant to ignore the itch".
6)The internal rhyme was in the line "Of things to do, places to be and sights to see?"
7) Personification was used in the line "Do trees experience, see, feel more never leaving their own land?"
8) Onomatopoeia was used in the line "Is it ignorant to ignore the itch; murmuring to let go and leap?" Itch and murmuring are onomatopoeias.
Amazing poem Abby!!! Love ya kiddo!

I really enjoyed the tone, and the constant thinking the reader has to do to understand what you are trying to say. I would maybe try to answer some of your own questions; this can also get the reader to think about things a little differently. Also, maybe try to end on a very deep question, maybe in a stanza of its own.
ReplyDelete1. A, B, C, B
2. Intuitive, deep, questioning
3. I like when you use "beacon of light", "ignorant to ignore the itch", and "murmuring to let go and leap".
4. Almost the entire poem is imagery, but I think my favorite is "Can we create for ourselves a beacon of light through a sea of darkness?"
5. "wondorous world"
6. "Places to be, and sights to see?"
7. "Do trees experience, see, feel more never leaving their own land?"
8. Itch and murmuring
Love it!

1) The poem is about opertunity and destiny
ReplyDelete2,3,4) The poem is realy good and it realy makes me think and I would like to know how you can possibly be so good at this.
5) beacon of light through a sea of darkness/ like a farmer waiting for rain/ like a road behind you/like a road block for life
6) Beacon made me think of a lighthouse or a lantren in the night. Roadblock for life made me think of sleepless nights of worry. Satisfaction or regret make me think deeply and of the apocalypse and judgement day (dun dun daaa)
