River Pd 3

http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/2544283/Batter
A baseball is an agile ninja avoiding the bat
The bat is like Rome defending its home
The field is inside a huge dome
As the batter waits for the pitcher to be ready he makes his cleats go rata tat tat

The pitch is thrown, even the birds do not make a sound
The ball is hit and screams like a child being whipped
The batter begins running and almost slipped
It seemed the ball didn't fall until the batter went all the way around

A walkoff hit, inside the park homerun almost to good to be true
The winning team storms the field full of joy
Congradulating the batter who is only a boy
What a way to win the championship game, they all knew their time was due

The celebrating now starts for them
A trip to Disney World now begins
Hopefully they'll get to go again
And it was all thanks to him

  1. I enjoy the internal rhymes and I enjoy the similes. I would change the length of some of the lines and it could flow better. 1. The rhyme scheme is A, B, B, A. 2. The poet's tone is entheusiastic when the game is won. 3. Three interesting words are agile, whipped, and storms. 4. A baseball is an agile ninja avoiding the bat. 5. "What a way to win" line 12. 6. Rome defending its home- line 2. 7. ball is hit and screams- line 6. 8. rata tat tat- line 4.
I thought this was a very good poem with an interesting rhyme scheme and tells a good story.

  2. Two aspects of this poem I like are the use of onomatopoeias and the joy of your tone. You could improve it by including more of a rythmic aspect. you could also add more imagery. The rhyme scheme is A,B,B,A. The tone was joyful and happy. I found the words agikle, ninja and due were interesting uses of diction. An internal rhyme was "Rome defending his home." The use of personification was describing the baseball as an agile ninja in line 1. Onomatapoeia was used in line 4 when he said "rata tat tat."

  4. 1)This poem is about playing baseball adn his views on the sport.
2)One question I have is why did you describe the ball screaming like a child being whipped/
3)One question I have for a stanza is why did you include a trip to disney world?
4)One question about this poem is why did you chose this topic?
Foue examples are screams like a child being whipped, baseball is an angile ninja, bat is like rome.
The adjectives he describes about baseball are baseball, dome, batter, pitcher, cleats, and homerun.
Three associations I make with baseball are cotten candy, bases, and organ music (happy organ music)

  5. The players are going to Disney because they have cool parents and it is only a 20 min drive.
I chose this topic because it is one of the only things I like to write about.
