ptptpssshhhhhhptptpBoom!yumm (The sound Rain Makes)
It's raining now
I wonder how
the clouds above
look down with love
don't think it's nuts
to pour their guts
onto the streets, the streams,
on us.
Far better than a day that's dry
as dreary as a dream gone by
excititng as an antidote
that feeds on fears, or love and hope.
mysterious as a doctor's handwriting
I hope I don't get hit by lightning
sometimes it can be quite frightening
just to watch the blacksky fighting
And when you know it's going to rain
You look out the window pane
and see the Crows all gath'ring round
cawing, cawing at the sound
of the storm clouds pouring down.
On rainy days I love the sky
a vast grey eye
that's crying
why?
To make Us appreciate the blue
that smiles down on me and you
but never do we stop and say
"What a phlapjiszaptous day!!"
It's raining now, I wonder how
the clouds above look down . . .
With love?

I really liked how you used the word "oonto" and the word "leifjelote".

2. The tone was calm and relaxed
3. diction- the title, "leifjelote", and "phlaposzaptoius day"
4. "see the crows all gath'ring round"
5. " the srteets, the streams..."
6. "...now, I wonder how"
7. "clouds look down with love.."

Katie Stapleton :P
I liked that it was good. I also liked that some words were pointless but awesome.
ReplyDeleteOnto was spelled wrong and I don't know if it's window pain or pane but that's about it.
Rhyme scheme:A A B B C C D E F F G G
H H I I J K K L K M M N N
O P Q I think that's right...
The tone is happy.
Good diction was leifjelote, phlapiszaptous, and guts.
When it said clouds above look down I imagined a ton of clouds everywhere.
Alliteration: cawing, cawing at the sound, line 16.
Internal rhyme: It's raining now, I wonder how, line 26.
Onomatopoeia: cawing, line 16.

I love the title

I enjoyed the sounds of rain you attempted to make at the start of the poem and how you made up words. I suggest combine some of the lines in stanza one to make it more flowing. I also think you should use a person or animal to be teiling the poem to gain a new perspective.
ReplyDelete1)The rhyme scheme was A A B B.
2)The tone of the poem was a happy tone in which the author talked of rain.
3)I liked the leifjelote and phlapiszaptous words he made up as well as talking about the clouds puring thier guts.
4)An example of imagery was looking out the window pane and seeing a group of crows.
5)The alliterations were the streets, the streams.
6)Internal rhyme was used now and how in the last stanza.
7)The clouds were personified in the first stanza.
8)Onomatopoeia ws used at the beginning of the poem to describe the sounds of rain.

1. This poem is about rain.
ReplyDelete2. What did exciting as an antidote mean?
3. What does stanza 4 mean?
4. I want to know why the poem is about liking rainy days because they're kind of dark and boring I guess.
A symbolic part of the poem was"A vast grey eye" Watching, crying, seeing.

This poem is about rain. One question I have for a particular line in this poem is that I am wondering what exactly "phlapjiszaptous" means. One question I have for the first stanza is why do you think that the clouds love us if they rain on us and ruin our hair and our possesions (particulary posssesions that are made from paper). They also tend to ruin sporting events and other outdoor activities. One question I have about the entire poem is why do you like rainy days so much, because I do not.
ReplyDeleteFour metaphors and/or similes
1) "I love the sky
a vast grey eye"
2) "as dreary as a dream gone by"
3) "excititng as an antidote"
4) "mysterious as a doctor's handwriting"
Symbolic
Rain-Water, dreary, cold, wet, miserable, destructive, grey, chilly, freezing, dark, unhappy, sad, miserable, umbrella, jacket, coat, rain boots, soaking, pouring, sprinkling

One question I have about the entire poem is why do you like rainy days so much, because I do not?
ReplyDeleteThe whole peom is explaining that. If you don't think that is sufficient answer, then what was the point of writing the poem?
I am wondering what exactly "phlapjiszaptous" means?
Whatever you want it to.
