My dog is a cuddly teddy bear.
His name is Fred and he shares my bed.
I taught him to sit, roll over, and beg,
Not to mention how to play dead.
He will shake your hand,
If you give him a treat.
And he barks for a juicy biscuit,
Which tastes like his favorite meat.
Like a therapist,
He's easy to talk to.
Although I get upset
When he chews on my shoe.
He loves to play outside and
I teach him terrific tricks.
He gets excited when meeting new people,
And like a lollipop, he gives them lots of licks.
The older he gets,
The more he turns gray.
But like my grandpa,
I love him more and more every day.
1)This poem is about your dog.
ReplyDelete2)One question I have about the seventh line is a juicy biscuit? arent biscuits like dryish?
3)I have a question about the third stanza, will he not run away? my dog gets disinterested fast and walks away.
4)A question about the entire poem is do you have a dog?
Similies/metaphors
My dog is a cuddly teddy bear
And like a lollipop, he gives them lots of licks
But like my grandpa,
Like a therapist
Dog- rolling, barking, running, panting, slobbering, tail wagging, and jumping.

1. This poem is about a dog named Fred.
ReplyDelete2. How did you think to describe Fred a therapist?
3. A question that i have about stanza 4 is why did you choose to write about the things that Fred does?
4. A question about the entire poem is what inspired you to write about this?
Four examples of similes/metaphors are "My dog is a cuddly bear", "Like a therapist, he's easy to talk to", "Like a lollipop, he gives them lots of licks", and "Like my grandpa, i love him more and more every day"
The symbolic word that I chose is dog. Dog- affection, loving, happy, soft, joyful, cuddly, licking, cheers me up.

2. Yeah, I guess that's true... but I'm sure dogs are still grateful for any treat!
3. Well maybe if you talk to dogs while petting them, they'll stick around!
4. Hahaha no I actually don't have a dog, but it was still a topic that I could easily relate to and write.

2. Some people enjoy the comfort of their dog, because when they talk to them about problems, they don't have to worry about the dog replying. Except maybe a bark haha.
3. I wanted to describe the things that Fred and other dogs like to do. Such as, playing outside and meeting new poeple.
4. Although I don't have a dog, I can easily relate to the topic of animals. I chose to write about having a dog, because I've always loved dogs and think they're very loving.
